May love and laughter light your days, and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours, wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons bring the best to you and yours!

Ike Wind Storm

Yesterday, Tropical Depression Ike made its way to our house. There was a long, strong wind storm throughout my community. The good news is that the two balls that were stuck in our tree all summer came out. The bad news is the storm caused a great deal of damage. Many people lost shingles off of their roofs or had trees snap off or fall over. Unfortunately, some buildings were severely damaged by fallen trees. Several electrical lines are down and most people are without power. School was canceled for today. Shannon's parents were lucky to have their power restored yesterday afternoon. Our power came back on this morning. But it is predicted that the county will not be fully restored to power for 10 days.

We were lucky our home had little damage-only the strips above our garage and a few shingles flew off.

These are several neighbors' homes.

This is damage from our town's historical district.
